This unique photo of a bull barrenground caribou silhouetted in first light on a frosty autumn tundra morning was taken by client and Pulitzer-prize winning professional photographer Jay Dickman in the backyard of a Great Canadian wildlife camp along the upper Thelon River near the Northwest Territories & Nunavut boundary in Northern Canada. You can see the caribou expelling his breath in the crisp morning cool! Jay Dickman was up north with us along with journalist Alan Weisman on assignment for Conde Nast Traveler magazine.
